Faaaaaan-tastic! Straight-up amazing.

Now, a few minor things to consider: the animation on their, ah, "rumps," to use the good Doctor's terminology, seemed a bit choppy when they were walking, so maybe clean that up a bit.

It's been mentioned before, but the voice tracks could use a little alteration - Doc sounded a tad static-y, and Derpy/Ditzy seemed like there might have been a bit of an... echo, I guess? Not like yodeling in the mountains echo, but kind of like speaking near a tin can. Although, that could possibly just be the way her voice sounds. It *is* pretty squeaky.

Next, tiny little details - I think I saw a missing outline when the Doc raised his far leg in a shrug-type gesture, or the black line around the Doc's eye not quite matching the white of his eye, etc., etc. Assuming time allows, really look it over with a super-critical eye, like you're a pony-hater just BEGGING to find any little mistake to criticize. You know, give that last extra layer of super-fine polish.

Finally, what I'd say was the biggest thing would be the camera angles - specifically, the lack of them. Straight-on side view, that was it. I'm sure it'll improve with practice, but don't be afraid to get active and dynamic! Just an example: when the Doc's looking around for the first time, switch to his P.O.V., swing side to side, and then - SUDDENLY! DERPY! - her face swings down to a frontal view right in the Doc's - and the viewer's - face! You know, stuff like that.

Again, you've got great stuff here - I'm just looking for anything that can help push it over the top to near-perfection.

Anyhoo, love it, and I know you've got more, so I hope to see more soon!

Cute and funny! Especially the chew-toy squeaky noises. The only thing that could've been improved was the sound - her exclamations didn't seem to *quite* match with her actions. There wasn't a major lag or anything, but I think they could have used some tweaking.

Can we expect to see a certain other, currently-in-progress animation here on NG once it's been completed?

Flamingo1986 responds:

Good catch! The sounds are a bit off aren't they? And oh yesh - "Double Rainboom" will definitely grace Newgrounds along with deviantART and YouTube once it's ready to be released.

So yeah, audio synch. It was also a little hard to distinguish some of the lyrics towards the end, but they're just fast, not garbled or anything. I'd say you've got a really good shot with this.

Two questions: how long did this take you, and is this your song?

Irascka responds:

Thanks!
It is my song, and it took around 10 days to write the lyrics and music. The flash took around 20 days. The whole thing, about a month.

Hmm... I like it. Now, personally, I think the part that could use the most work would be the part where she's walking towards the camera. The walking seems a little off, and it's kind of dragged out - overall, the quality seems just a little lower than the other parts. Something else that struck me as odd was that Applejack is the *only* one who didn't get a smile. I mean, I suppose she had good reason not to, but it still felt out of place. Another tiny thing is that, at the beginning, the line in her tail seems to be bouncing out of time with the rest of her tail. And I don't know if this one makes much sense, but the smiles didn't look quite as "smile-ish" as I thought they should. They were a bit too... indistinct, I guess is the word.... Yeah, I'm a real master of communication over here. What I'm trying to say is that I think they needed to be more easily identifiable as smiles.

Anyway, this is largely a review by exception - if I didn't mention it, it was pretty good, if not better. Just make sure you practice lip synching and making the animation smoother and more lively and refine your concepts and yadda yadda yadda, all the stuff you'd naturally improve on anyway, and belt out another gem for us.

Overall, good job!

Over the top...

...just went over the top. The first one was good, but this was completely hilarious! Smoothly animated, the lines were delivered well, and while the voices weren't *quite* spot-on to the original characters, they were still very good. Keep up the great work.

Graphically amazing.

I don't think anyone with working eyes can honestly deny that. The music was wonderful too, but I think it sounded just a little static-y. The only real complaint I could have with this is the abruptness of the "story," as it were. I realize that a detailed narrative probably wasn't the goal here, but the virtual lack of any buildup (we don't know anything about the setting, the development of Sparky's feelings, the reason for and suddenness of the mecha-cathedral-beast's appearance) was a little too jarring to let me become fully engrossed in the movie.

Suddenly...

...being married to a fish-woman doesn't seem so bad, does it, Link?

Well, it is unfortunate that Morpha's fight had to get cut, but I'd say Dark Link's battle made up for it. I am kind of wondering if it wouldn't have been better to just split this movie into two parts if size was such an issue, but I'm not the one who had to go through all the trouble of making it, so what do I know? ALl things considered, it was pretty great.

And, to Hysteria980's review two places below this one, that blobby thing at the end was the Flare Dancer from The Real Legend 3. It even mentions him in the credits, and he's voiced by the same guy.

So true...

The hat and goofy moustache are forgivable, even ignorable.

But you do not-

-I repeat, DO NOT-

-MESS! WITH A GUY'S! CANDY BAR!

They're Coming from the Side!?

Dammit gravity, you don't work that way!

Really, this was a great flash, but the beginning just seemed too similar to cobra0528's Tetris'd. Of course, when the blocks started coming from a different direction and you got some (real?fake?) 3D in there, it got much more interesting.

I'd say, if there is a next time, try making more of it with 3D (you don't need to include the bullet-time), and have the blocks come from above, below, left, right, in front and behind.

Arch-Angel responds:

that's an excellent idea... I'm learning Maya now, which is a 3d animation sofware, and this would be a perfect canidate for a first 3d movie. thank you!

YYYYYEEEEEEESSSSSS!!

Seriously, I'm a huge Mother/EarthBound fan, and this looks like it's going to be freaking amazing (though I may be just a little biased)!

I can't wait for the first one to come out. Ooh, will there be voice acting? Whod'jaget, whod'jaget?!

People are friggin' WEIRD.
